Percutaneous endoscopic jejunostomy (PEJ) is a procedure to place a feeding tube directly into the jejunum (the middle part of the small intestine) using an endoscope, which is guided through the outside of the abdomen. This method is used when the patient cannot eat orally or cannot tolerate feeding into the stomach. The endoscope allows the doctor to visualize and locate the intestine from the outside. A small incision is made to insert the tube and guide it to its final position in the intestine. The endoscopy for placing this tube is a procedure performed under sedation.
Prices may be adjusted or modified if additional procedures are required or necessary during the study. Prices may also be adjusted or modified depending on the patient's specific medical conditions and age.
