Diverticula of the colon are pouches that can become inflamed or infected. If these pouches become inflamed or infected, they cause inflammation, leading to abdominal pain, fever, and other symptoms. Sometimes, diverticula can bleed heavily and pose a serious health risk.
Through colonoscopy, different techniques and methods can be implemented to stop the bleeding.
It is performed under sedation, which means the patient will be asleep and in a deep sleep. They will not feel any discomfort, pain, or other discomfort. It is not general anesthesia.
Biopsies may be taken during the procedure for analysis. If a biopsy is necessary, it will incur an additional cost of $800 pesos.
