Cancer screening package.
PRICE: $16,000
Malignant gastrointestinal tumors represent a significant proportion of all cancers worldwide, the most common being colon, rectal and stomach cancer.
Gastrointestinal cancers account for 26% of global cancer incidence and 35% of cancer-related deaths. In 2022, there were approximately 4.9 million new cases of digestive cancers and more than 3.3 million related deaths.
On the other hand, cancers of the liver, esophagus, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts, and intestine have increased in frequency and are appearing in younger patients every day. Colon and rectal cancer was the most prevalent in terms of both incidence and mortality. Stomach cancer is among the most common, ranking fifth worldwide. Some of these tumors are considered aggressive, so prevention is the best medicine.
Upper endoscopy is the primary tool for detecting esophageal, stomach, and intestinal cancer, as it allows the doctor to examine the inside of the upper digestive tract using a flexible tube with a camera. During the procedure, biopsies (tissue samples) can be taken to confirm a definitive diagnosis.
A colonoscopy is the best method for diagnosing or ruling out colon and rectal cancer, as it allows for the examination of the inside of the lower digestive tract using a thin, flexible tube and a camera. Keep in mind that biopsies can be taken during a colonoscopy to confirm or rule out a cancer diagnosis.
Both procedures (endoscopy and colonoscopy) are performed under sedation, which means you will be asleep and in a deep sleep. You will not feel any discomfort or pain. It is not general anesthesia.
The biopsy has an additional cost of $800 pesos.
Our diagnostic package includes endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasound, tumor marker testing, and laboratory tests. Tumor markers are substances, such as proteins and enzymes, found in the blood that rise in the presence of malignant cells in the body; these can indicate the presence of cancer or the onset of cancer.
