Bronchoscopy is a medical procedure that allows visualization of the inside of the airways and lungs using a thin, flexible tube with a camera called a bronchoscope.

It is used both to diagnose conditions (such as chronic cough, bleeding, cancer, etc.) and to treat certain diseases, such as removing obstructions, taking tissue samples, or applying local treatments.

The tube is inserted through the nose or mouth and descends into the trachea and bronchi. This method allows for the analysis of fluid from the bronchi, and the diagnosis or exclusion of diseases such as tuberculosis, cancer, inflammation, blood in the lungs, etc. It is painless, causes no discomfort, and the patient will be sedated and in a deep sleep. It is not general anesthesia. It is an outpatient procedure; hospitalization is not required.

The additional cost for the biopsy is $800 pesos.
