Your primary care doctor might have written a referral using different terms, but they all refer to the same procedure designed to examine the lining of your esophagus, stomach, and the first part of your small intestine (duodenum).

What exactly is included in this price?
This cost covers the complete endoscopic procedure, including a very important step: taking biopsies (tissue samples).
During the study, if Dr. Ricardo Alcocer spots any inflammation, an ulcer, or suspicious tissue, he will take small samples. The act of taking as many samples as needed inside the operating room is fully covered by your $4,800.00 MXN fee.
What you need to know about biopsy results
To find out exactly what is causing your symptoms, the tissue samples (biopsies) must be analyzed under a microscope by a medical specialist called a pathologist.
The pathologist’s analysis is NOT included in the endoscopy cost. For this step, we offer two options so you can choose what works best for you:
You choose your pathologist: After your endoscopy, we can hand you your properly prepared samples so you can take them to the pathology lab of your choice.
We handle it for you: To make things easier, we can send your samples to a highly trusted pathologist we work with closely. If you choose this hassle-free option, the pathologist charges approximately $700.00 MXN for the first sample and $100.00 MXN for each additional sample. They will analyze the tissue and send the results directly back to us for your final diagnosis.
